Milton Edwards was born in Shelby County, Kentucky, on September 5, 1842. He was the son of Thomas Duvall Edwards and Sarah Ann Tyler. A farmer, he was 5’11” with a fair complexion, brown eyes and dark hair. Private Edwards died February 21, 1862 in Bowling Green of pneumonia. He is buried in the Simpsonville Cemetery in Shelby County.
